The endless cycle of life

I am someone who has always lots of questions, and my mind is often busy trying to understand the “why” of everything. I might be very existential, as I often find myself contemplating an age-old question: What is the point of it all?

We are born, we live, and then we die. It’s a simple cycle that many of us don’t like to dwell on, but it is inescapable. I tend to view life as a series of experiences that we undergo, one after the other, with no definitive end. Instead, I see this as a loop that we are all part of, whether we are ready to accept it or not.

Although I was raised Catholic, where life has a beginning and an end, when I was 14, I realised that Catholicism didn’t resonate with me. For some reason, reincarnation seemed to make more sense. Birth, death, and rebirth, they all intertwine, and in a way, they are inevitable. It’s not something to fear or resist, but rather a reality that we must face, regardless of how we feel about it.

What I often find unsettling is that no matter how much we try to make sense of life, there’s no clear answer to the question of its purpose. No answer will ever be good enough to satisfy this longing. Life is a mix of joy, pain, success, and suffering. Suffering is part of life, it’s like a balance that has to maintain itself. This reminds me of something Osho once wrote:
