I wish the woman I used to be, makes peace with her past
We often put all our energy into trying to pretend that the past that has marked us so much, never existed, but the truth is that each of us has a lived history, of our own.
It would certainly be easier to fill our mind and heart only with the best memories, but, we cannot forget that there are also painful experiences, which always hurt, even if years have passed, because they simply have not been processed correctly by our mind.
Sooner or later there comes a time when we have to make peace with the past, a fundamental step in life, to deserve to live peacefully with ourselves.
What we have suffered brings with it a desire for reconciliation that is not easy to overcome. The past can sometimes seem too heavy to let go of.
How often do we think about what has been and what could have been?
We fill our heads with ifs and buts, blaming ourselves for something that did not have a happy ending, or we couldn’t control.
The truth is that keeping certain ghosts alive does not allow us to live in the present.
But there are some things that cannot be changed, especially when they come from the past. If we focus too much on what has or hasn’t happened, we can lose sight of the opportunities that can…
