Emotional triggers — How to identify and manage them
Emotional triggers can be thought of as messengers or signals that alert us to something that needs attention or resolution. They can reveal underlying issues, unresolved past experiences, or areas of our lives where we may feel stuck or unfulfilled.

Internal triggers are often related to past experiences or memories that have been repressed or unresolved. For example, someone who has experienced trauma in their past may be triggered by certain sounds or smells that remind them of the traumatic event.
External triggers are often related to current events or situations, such as a specific person or a place. For example, someone may be triggered by a certain tone of voice or a particular phrase that reminds them of a past hurt or disappointment.
Emotional triggers can also be related to our thoughts, beliefs, and assumptions. For example, if we have a belief that we are not good enough, this thought can be triggered by criticism or rejection.
